James Michael Tyler, known widely around the world for his recurring role as 'Gunther' on "Friends," died Sunday from cancer. The world is mourning the loss of this beloved character. Sure the character was a bit creepy but we loved him for it. He loved Rachel Green to no end and tried every trick in the book to get her attention like dropping coffee mugs on the regular. His shy, romantic and mysterious demeanor made him the most memorable side-character of the Friends series. Even though this pale-haired barista was unnamed until halfway through season two, Gunther was crucial to the cast. His consistent presence at Central Perk and unrequited love for Rachel left a significant and warm impression on Friends fans that will last forever.
